This Little Piggy 10-minute. Something's missing in the marriage of a young couple: a finger. Presented as part of the Love Bites Play Festival by Elephant Theatre Company, Los Angeles, CA, February 2009.

Mammoth Gorge Full-length. Things finally get interesting on a ratings-poor TV news program in a remote northern Michigan burg, where nothing much ever happens. First, the region's ice fishing champion is held hostage by fugitve illegal immigrants in an abandoned building with some canned food and a case of skunky but no-less providential beer. Then the suicidal traffic chopper lady attains enlightenment on the air and becomes a spiritual guide to all the viewers. Her words of council change the lives of the station's motley news team. But can anyone save the hostage...before the beer runs out? Presented in a reading by Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA as part of the Winterfest play reading festival. March 2010.

Saint Barbara Full-length. A powerful, devout man tries to save a decaying neighborhood by completely transforming it through commercial development, tearing down all the abandoned buildings and mom-and-pop shops. But he clings to the one fixture that has meaning for him, the dilapidated Church of Saint Barbara, which is one step away from being condemned. His family attended this church since they fled to America from Cuba in the 60s. Then the man finds out that the church is also a secret home to practiioners of Santeria, a hybrid of Catholicism and African religious traditions that involve, among other things, animal sacrifice. There are many paths to God and many collisions.Presented in a staged reading at the Summer New Play Festival at Cypress College, Cypress, CA, July 2007. The Devil's Sonata Full-length. Inspiration can sting and corrupt. Brilliant 18th-century violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini meets fellow virtuoso Lucifer one night. The next morning he composes the greatest music of his career, knowing that it will set God's teeth on edge. Winner of the 2001 Illinois Arts Council Fellowship for Dramatic Writing. Produced by Visions and Voices Theatre Company at Strawdog Theatre, Chicago, in March/April, 2003.

Flaw and Disorder Comedy skit. In this existential courtroom drama, a man stands trial for not doing anything. Part of the Winjoe Cabaret presented at the Hideout, Chicago, in July, 2001. All roles performed by the author.

Utah 10-minute. An angry son steals his violent father's prosthetic leg. As he puzzles over what to do with it, he finds himself puzzing over what to do with the rest of his life. Finalist for the Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival Heideman Award in 2001; semi-finalist at the Turnip Festival in New York City in 2001; performed at the Heartland Festival in Michigan in 2001.

The Graphite Salesman One-act. Abandonned in a restroom at an airport, a troubled young man steals a traveler's identity. Produced by Yurodivy Theatre Company at the O-Bar, Chicago, February, 1998.

Saints One-act. A drug-addicted woman goes into labor. The father, a blind drug dealer, struggles between making his future family's life easier and destroying it. Produced by the Saratoga Company at the Space on Foster, Chicago, June, 1992.

Paradise Ghetto Full-length. At the Theresienstadt Ghetto, the Jewish inmates cling to their lives and the German soldiers cling to their identities. Presented in a staged reading by the Saratoga Company at the Space on Foster, Chicago, March, 1991.

The Power Failure One-act. A government official interrogates a terrorist, trying to prevent a power failure from crippling the city. Produced by Synergy Theatre Company at Synergy Center, Chicago, May, 1990.
